The city of Inverness, located in eastern Citrus County, is just 75 miles North of Tampa and 70 miles Northwest of Orlando.  With its beautiful, historic downtown, sprawling parks, and golf courses, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.  In the downtown area of Inverness you´ll find quaint little shops, restaurants, and the 1912 historic court house.  The court house was renovated in 2000 and is open to the public.  There is a museum on the first floor which shows the history of Citrus County.  Bordered on the east by the Tsala and Apopka Chain of Lakes there is plenty of opportunity for boating, fishing and swimming.  Enjoy a morning round of golf on one of the two public courses or the private course in Inverness or take the kids out for 18 holes of miniature golf.
