The city of Floral City, located in southeast Citrus County, is just 70 miles north of Tampa and 80 northwest of Orlando. A small but historic town, Floral City is a quiet community perfect for raising a family. Floral City holds two festivals each year. Heritage Days, held the first weekend in December, is a self-guided tour through eight historic houses along the main street in Floral City. Costumed hosts greet visitors and give them a look at what life was like in the late 1800´s. Visitor information is available at a gazebo located at Orange Avenue and the Withlacoochee State Trail.
Floral Park in Floral City offers plenty of outdoor activities such as, bike/jogging trails, a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, a soccer field, baseball field, and a covered picnic area. In March the park is transformed for Floral City´s Strawberry Festival. Food courts and an arts bazaar line the bike path that winds through the park. |
